Four 90-Minute Workshops
Over the past two decades, postsecondary educational landscapes have shifted dramatically. Many educators find that their pedagogical strategies are a mismatch with students’ current needs--especially in a post-COVID landscape. In these sessions, we talk openly about ways that trauma, adversity, and bandwidth depletion have taken a toll on students and faculty alike. Participants learn key concepts related to mental health, learn about the neurobiological effects of trauma and toxic stress on learning, and begin exploring connections between our pedagogical values and students’ mental health issues. These sessions offer participants several actionable strategies designed to help alleviate stress and promote richer connections with students.
